One of Florida’s first Gulf Coast cities, Sarasota gives visitors an eclectic combination of culture and fine dining, circus thrills and natural beaches, and a broad array of shopping opportunities. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota pays tribute to the Ringlings, the family behind America’s most prestigious circus. The Celery Fields
The Celery Fields is a space of wetlands owned by Sarasota County. The wetlands site is located on the Great Florida Birding Trail and features an overlook mound, trails, and ponds. More than 360 acres covered area, the place is also Sarasota County’s primary stormwater collecting zone. Rehabilitation of 100 acres of the wetlands included planting over 200,000 marine trees and plants as well as the formation of two boardwalks so that the public can see the wetlands and the wildlife. A site is an ideal place for bird-watching, and 217 varieties of birds have seen here.
Established in 1949 as the Florida West Coast Symphony, the Sarasota Orchestra is the best continuing orchestra in the state of Florida. The orchestra’s home is Holley Hall in the Beatrice Friedman Symphony Center. Consist of 80 members, the band shows over 100 classic, family, and pops shows yearly in Sarasota County.
The orchestra’s training program includes the Youth Orchestra which organized in 1959. This orchestra is made up of seven groups: the most advanced group, the Youth Philharmonic, made its debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2008.
Sarasota Classic Car Museum
Housed in a 60,000 square foot amenity, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is the second beloved continuously operating classic car museum in the United States. The collection includes more than 75 vintage, foreign, and one-of-a-kind cars and the displays exchange on a regular basis. Some of the cars owned by famous people including John Lennon’s 1965 Mercedes Benz, John and Mable Ringling’s selection of Rolls Royce cars, and numerous more. The Italian Car Collection adds such makes as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Rivolta.

Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota, Florida
The Florida Studio Theatre is a non-profit theater that offers contemporary plays performed at a variety of places, including the Green Room Cafe and Bar, the Bowne Lab Theatre, the Goldstein Cabaret, the John C. Court Cabaret, and the historic Keating and Gompertz Theatres. The theater operates many programs such as Stage III, New Play Development, the Cabaret Series, the Mainstage Series, and more. Florida Studio Theatre Improv is a famous parody troupe that performs funny sketches at the Bowne Lab Theatre. The theater gives some educational outreach programs.
Sarasota Opera, Sarasota, Florida
Opera House on North Pineapple Avenue, housed in the Sarasota, Sarasota Opera is a professional opera company. Established initially as the Asolo Opera Guild, the opera received the Sarasota Opera House, formerly identified as the Edwards Theatre, in 1979, and started in 1984. The opera house was renovated and revived in 2008. The company offers four fully staged operas for its Winter Opera Festival during February and March. The opera company recognized for its Verdi Cycle, a display of all of the operas by famed Italian musician Giuseppe Verdi along with his orchestral works, chamber works, and his Requiem. The company has several educational outreach programs.
