Butterflies everywhere and plenty of picture taking opportunities. There is a great playground right next door. The park is enormous with lots of shady spots and fun things to offer. There is so much to learn there: from different native butterfly species to professionally mounted specimens from around the globe, to giant bird-eating spiders and Eastern lubber grasshoppers. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens:

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens of Boca Raton, Florida is a center for Japanese arts and culture. With many volunteer opportunities and cultural events, Morikami plays an integral part in the community. There are many artistic seminars, exhibitions, and traditional ceremonies that are held during the year, which help preserve the traditional Japanese culture but also tie it into modern day life. The Cornell Cafe is a great place to grab a bite to eat after exploring the gardens. You can have a full meal, or just some dessert to help cool down in warmer months. The Garden is beautifully manicured and shows the historical transition of Japanese gardens through the ages. It is a very calming and peaceful experience. There is a bonsai “exhibition” where various trees are shapes and maintained in miniaturized versions. And all around the pathways are many beautiful flowering plants and shrubs.
